A UK based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Harvey Olufunmilayo has said avoiding alcohol before bed time helps in reducing snoring.
Dr Olufunmilayo gave the advise on Wednesday in a tweet on his verified and official twitter account, titled “Simple tips on how to help a snoring partner”.
Snoring according to National Sleep Foundation, an American Non-governmental Organisation is a noisy breathing during sleep.
It also said it is a common problem among all ages and both genders, which may occur nightly or intermittently.
“Persons most at risk are males and those who are overweight, but snoring is a problem of both genders, although it is possible that women do not present with this complaint as frequently as men. Snoring usually becomes more serious as people age”.
Dr Olufunmilayo tips includes: “tell them to sleep on their side, Never to lie on the back, help them to lose weight, no alcohol 4hours before bed time, get a hot shower before sleep, and avoid long hours of work without regular sleep”.
