With report that President Muhammadu Buhari is on his way back to the country after leaving the country on the 24th of April, 2019 on what the presidency said was an official visits to the United kingdom.
According to SaharaReporters, his plane, a Boeing 737 Business Ajet with registration number 5N-FGT, left Standsted Airport in London at about 12:20pm.
We look at the number of times he has left the country on medical visit to the United Kingdom.
Since his inauguration in 2015, President Buhari has embarked on not less than eight trips to the UK.
Most of his visit has been shrouded in secrecy, but it is being reported that the President constatnt visit to UK has to do with his health.
On the February 5, 2016, he embarked on a six-day medical vacation to London. Shortly after, on the June 6, 2016, he took to the skies for a 10-day medical vacation to deal with a “persistent ear infection”.
Again on January 19, 2017, he took off to London again on a medical vacation and on February 5, 2017, he wrote to the National Assembly, asking lawmakers to extend his London medical leave.
He returned on the March 10, 2017 but did not resume work immediately before jetting out two months later on May 7, 2017 for another medical vacation that lasted 104 days.
President Buhari returned in and worked from home August 19, 2017.
He again flew out in May 8, 2018 for a follow-up check-up.
