Activist and human right lawyer, Abdul Mahmud, popularly known as the Great Oracle has stated that the abduction of online commentator and government critics Abubakar Idris, popularly Dadiyata bears the palmprints of State Security Service (SSS), also known as DSS.
Mahmud said this is a series of tweets on his official twitter.
Idris was abducted on the 2nd of August 2019, as he drove into his residence in Barnawa neighbourhood of Kaduna at about 1:00 a.m. on Friday.
He said, “See, don’t believe the tosh that @dadiyata was taken by unknown people. His seizure at the gates of his home bears the palmprints of the SSS. We don’t need the Oracle to tell us, we just have to look at the way the Service operated in the past: two examples:
“1989. Enter Gbenga Olawepo. Then PRO NANS, and student Unilag, he attended the World Youth Festival and addressed the body. On return to Nigeria, he was snatched by the SSS. Olawepo simply disappeared and for months the SSS denied it had him, While being detained in its underground cell at the Inter-Centre Detention Facility at Awolowo Road, Ikoyi – a nondescript facility bordering Ikoyi Cemetery.”
“Nigerians only became aware when note was smuggled from the underground cell to Olawepo’s lawyer, late Alao Aka-Bashorun. In spite of, SSS kept denying it had him until he was released almost a year later.”
“Same year, 1989. Late Basil Chianson, the fiery and fire-spitting VP NANS was snatched from his room at the University of Jos and transported by military chopper to Lagos. The government denied it had him. A few days later, two other students leaders were abducted- Nchi & Okereke.”
“Luckily the later abduction was witnessed by an activist. In an affidavit he deposed to a Lagos High Court, he named the SSS as the abductors. Lid blown, the SSS was forced to admit it had all students leaders who had “disappeared.”
“If the SSS Kaduna state, Police Kaduna and Kaduna State Government have not issued a statement on the “abduction” of @dadiyata, torches should be pointed at the direction of the triumvirate.”
