Bayern Munich have relieved Niko Kovac of his duties as the manager of the club following a 5-1 humiliation by Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
The decision was made on Sunday base on the recent performance of club, having won five league matches out of 10 matches played. Although, Bayern is enjoying good performance in the Champions League.
Kovac spent 18 months with the club and helped them to secure Bundesliga title, DFB Cup and the Supercup last season.
Bayern Munich currently sit on fourth position with four point adrift surprise table topper, Borussia Monchengladbach.
Meanwhile, Assistant to Kovac, Hansi Flick will take charge of the team in preparation for the Champions League clash against Olympiacos on Wednesday and a Bundesliga game against rival, Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
