Olawale Oloforo, a Nigerian music artist popularly known as Brymo alongside his manager Lanre Lawal are being accused of fraud.
A Nigerian lady in twitter, Karimot Odebode had in series of tweets on her twitter handle explained how Byrmo and his manager, Lanre defrauded them of two hundred thousand naira.
Odebode said Brymo’s manager collected 200,000 from her team for a show they invited them for in 2018.
She said both Brymo and his Manager after collecting the money didn’t show up for the concert.
She disclosed that problem began when two days to the event, a major test was fixed for the next day that will follow the planned event, July 7, 2018, which threatened attendance to the concert.
According to her, “The Sports Hall executive arranged a quick meeting with all stakeholders on campus to decide if to postpone the event to the following week.”
“A call was placed to Mr. Lanre Lawal who agreed on a 7-day postponement. Less than three hours after the call, information circulated around campus about the postponement of the said test that was earlier fixed for July 7 had been moved to July 9, 2018.”
Disclosing further that after the postponement, all attempt to get Brymo and his manager set a new date for the concert was ignored and the student demand for a refund of the N200,000 was also ignored.
“But said the test was postponed Mr. Lanre Lawal insisted that we stick to a postponement agreement and that the management of The Bail Entertainment Company will look at their schedule to check the next available date,” she said.
“We called and called for them to give us a new date but they couldn’t give us a new date. With the fact that our 200k is with them. There was no written or unwritten agreement that the money cannot be refunded if service is not rendered. We were just group of students excited to create a social event.”
“We begged and begged Lanre Lawal to refund us as we were just students but he refused. I had to pay back the money from my personal pocket to people who contributed to the event. And we still have an to pay to one Mr Nathaniel who was one of the sponsor.”

Brymo and his manager defrauded myself and my team in 2018. We were just group of University student excited to create a good student experience for students.
I reached out to Lanre Lawal in his capacity as Brymo manager to secure his artist.
He asked for 1 million but we were able to slash it to 500k + hotel, food, transport, instrument . Sound was going to 400k. We had more than 50 volunteers who were enthusiastic about making this event work. We reached out to sponsors.
UBA OAU agreed to buy a particular some of tickets for students. A company gave us Bitcoin worth 80k or thereabouts.
Lanre Lawal kept telling us to pay 200k upfront, and because the team was working day and night to make it happen.
I and some people contributed the 200k as upfront. However, two days to the event, a major test was fixed for the next day that will follow the planned event, July 7, 2018, which threatened attendance to the concert.

The Sports Hall executives immediately placed a call to Lanre Lawal to negate the information earlier passed, and that the concert could still hold on the 6th of July, 2018.
Mr. Lanre Lawal told the Sports Hall executives that one of their team members had travelled to Port Harcourt upon announcement of the postponement and could not be recalled We tried as much as possible to persuade them to find an alternative for the team member who travelled less than three hours after our call.

Lanre Lawal reached out to me last November on Instagram to ask for one of the numbers of the volunteer. I actually thought they were ready to pay back. Unfortunately, they were not.
Please, see our conversation below.

I sent him several messages before the team decided to take it to the EFCC, but unfortunately they couldn’t help because the money is really below their threshold.

Lanre Lawal, you collected 200,000 from University students without delivering the service.
Brymo is complicit as we have tried talking to him but he said we should speak with you.
Pay us our money! We’re done been the victims! And I will not be silent. See evidence of payment
